Project Overview
OneSkin is a San Francisco skin longevity company founded by four female PhD scientists. Their products are built around OS-01, a peptide they developed to target the cellular processes behind skin aging. OneSkin partnered with True Stories on a founder-led brand film that turned their research and the resulting products into a story consumers would actually connect with.
Challenge
The skincare market is brutally crowded: 3,000 new brands launched in 2018 alone. OneSkin had peer-reviewed science showing its peptide could reduce cellular senescence at the molecular level, and the challenge was telling that story in a way that broke through without losing the science.
Approach
We built the film around the four founders, each bringing a distinct scientific discipline and a clear point of view on why what they were building mattered. The result was part founder story, part science documentary: accessible enough for a general audience, credible enough for the scientific community.
Results
The brand story became the centerpiece of OneSkin’s content, and the company has since raised over $40M from investors including Unilever Ventures, at a $142M valuation. Four scientists with a peptide and a vision now lead one of the most compelling longevity brands in the market.
