Project Overview
Dr. Diamond’s Metacine is a prestige skincare line co-founded by Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond and Dr. Jessica Combs, the brand’s CEO. Its formulas are inspired by the signature procedures at Dr. Diamond’s clinic, the Diamond Face Institute, which bring clinic-level results to at-home skin care. The founders asked True Stories for a theatrical short documentary that would play less like a skincare ad and more like the trailer for a feature film about the man behind the brand.
Challenge
Dr. Jason Diamond was already one of the most famous plastic surgeons in the world, but the Metacine line needed its own story. It had to carry the luxury credibility of the clinic while feeling personal enough to connect with people who will never set foot in a Beverly Hills exam room.
Approach
We spent two days capturing the Dr. Diamond story, from a 6AM cold plunge at the Diamond home to procedures at the Diamond Face Institute. Moving between intimate home life and high-stakes clinic work gave the film cinematic scale without losing the personal touch.
Results
The brand has tripled in size since launch, with projected retail sales of $15–20M in 2025 and over 215 retail distribution points, including Nordstrom, Goop, Bluemercury, and Violet Grey. We’re proud to be part of that story.
